Update: In regards to the submission limitations, give it about a week and then let me know if you think the volume of submissions are getting better, worse, or the same. The more input I get from bot admins and members will give me a better picture. Thank you.

I've begun to implement the changes I mentioned in my last blog entry [link] and I wanted to outline a few things here.

First, we now have two co-founders in the group, :icongirl-on-the-moon: and :iconmarker-mistress: that will be doing their best to make this group fun and run smoothly.

Second, we've posted new rules. We've gone back to the system where all Doctor Who related art is allowed into the group as long as it is art and Doctor Who related (hence the title of this group). The only restrictions right now is if our administrators find the submission offensive. So if your work was rejected or deleted under the previous rules, now is the time to resubmit them.

Third, I've created a few "fave folders" where we administrators can showcase our favorite submissions. I've asked the administrators not to showcase their own work but one administrator may choose to showcase another administrator's work. But, ideally, we'll be showcasing the best works submitted by general members.

Fourth, I've changed the limitations to the amount of submissions allowed into each folder to 5 submissions a week. This is an attempt to allow us to keep up with the volume of submissions to prevent them from expiring. If you are a frequent submitter, I thank you for your patience in this. If this limitation does not work as intended I will change them again until we find a system that does work.

That's basically it for now. More changes may be coming soon. If you have any comments on this please leave them here. Thank you.

IMHO I like the new rules, but the mods should feel free to limit submissions if they feel too stressed out.

What's wrong with one submission per week? You guys sound stressed out, and this group is growing.

The fave folders is a good idea.

Yeah, I like the limitations. When it gets to the point where I have to click 'next page' a second and third time to see more submissions for a group - and I get submission updates from 3 groups like this - then I don't even bother.

I think this is fair to the artists to get people to look at their artwork seriously.

Personally I like the idea of limiting submissions per person per day.

I like to comment on all art submitted to a group, but recently I had 40 submittals to view from group, in one day and another 20 the next.

Instead of viewing ANY of them, I cancelled viewing any.

To me, and most might see me as wrong in this, less is more.

Look at it this way, someone posted ~20 submittals all at once. I deleted all instead of viewing some, but maybe a couple people submitted one piece and wont for another long while. So, ...who did that person posting ~20 at once help?

That's a good point. And like I said, this submission limitation is on a trial basis. Unfortunately since the group is growing it is completely possible that if I restrict it to once a day for each folder that there could still be 20+ submissions in a day. My main concern here is to find a way to make sure everyone's submission has a chance to be voted on.

I like Whovian art. I want to see different things people are doing. That's one of the reason I joined.

but if it gets like one group I joined where the postings were about 100 per day (not per person) then I'll just turn off the updates.
Which isn't why I am part of the group.

Juuuust out of interest, Do you accept stamps as submissions into the group?

:iconcharliekirchoff:
Well, that depends. We don't accept submissions made from screen captures or art work that is not your own. However, if you create a stamp from your own art I don't see why we wouldn't.
